Procedure

Step 1.Make the base. Arrange Horizontal strips 1 & 2 as shown. Make sure they are centered. Use masking tape to hold down if necessary.
Step 2. Glue Support strip along both sides as shown.

Step 3. Turn over, and glue vertical strips along both sides as shown. Make sure the strips are centered.
Step 4. Flip back to the front, and using two vertical strips, weave over and under as shown.
Step 5. Push out to either side.

Step 6. Using the remaining vertical strips, weave as shown in the picture.
Step 7. Glue Reinforcement strips along the top and bottom as shown.

Step 8. Fold all of the strips upward.
Step 9. Using a Weaving strip, place one end behind the 2nd vertical strip and weave over and under. Use clothespins to help keep in place.
Step 10. To complete the 1st row, cut off the excess and glue the ends of the Weaving strip together. The ends should be hidden by the vertical strips.
Step 11. Using a new weaving strip, start the second row at the 3rd vertical strip on the other side of the basket to maintain an even thickness. Weave over and under.
Step 12. Weave the 3rd row in the same manner as the 1st row. Gradually pull the vertical strips to tighten the gaps between the rows.
Step 13. For the vertical strips on the outside of the top row, fold inward.
Step 14. Cut off excess and tuck the ends into the 1st row. Ends should be unseen.
Step 15. Tuck the Rim reinforcement strip in between the top row and the remaining vertical strips.
Step 16. Fold the remaining vertical strips outward.
Step 17. Tuck the ends into the first row. Ends should be unseen.
Step 18. For the other Rim reinforcement strip, cut one end into a point as shown.
Step 19. Weave through every other vertical strip, to mimic the weave pattern in the first row. Hide the end with a vertical strip to maintain a seamless look.
Step 20. Should look like this when complete.
Step 21. To make the handle of the basket, tuck one of the Handle strips down to the third row on the inside of the basket. Tuck the other Handle strip on the outside as shown. Glue the two together.
Step 22. Using the longest Bow strip, glue the ends together and wrap the middle with the other Bow strip, taking care to hide the seam.
Step 23. Glue to the top of the handle. Completed. Yay!
